Research interests

Touchless assistive interfaces, cognitive vision for frustration detection, age-adapted gesture recognition systems, hardware prototyping and signal measurement.

Research experience

Cognitive Vision Hand Gesture Recognition System

2025

Undergraduate thesis, Abuja

  • Built a real-time, touchless HCI system in Python with OpenCV and Google MediaPipe, mapping two-handed 2.5D hand landmarks to continuous OS-level controls (WASAPI and DDC/CI) with an average latency of 35 ms; 28–30 fps in good light and 15–20 fps in low light on consumer CPUs.
  • Implemented geometric regression, linear interpolation and a palm-depth proxy (Z-axis), with a gesture clutch to remove false activations and tremor-induced jitter.
  • Selected for the faculty thesis exhibition.

Projects

ROS robot controller

Teleoperation nodes and publisher/subscriber pipelines for a chassis robot on Ubuntu and ROS Noetic, with Arduino integration, a multimeter and a logic analyser. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, Arduino, CamJam EduKit, Python.

Pathfinding visualisation GUI

Interactive Pygame visualiser for A*, Dijkstra's algorithm, breadth-first and depth-first search.

Not3s

Cross-platform note-taking app in Dart and Flutter with real-time backend data synchronisation.

Experience

Automation Developer Intern, ExxonMobil

2021–2022

Budapest, Hungary

  • Developed and maintained workflow automation scripts aligned with enterprise CI/CD and documentation standards.
  • Worked in an Agile DevOps team to remove manual pipeline bottlenecks and reduce deployment delays.

Software Developer Intern, WebSoft Inc

2018–2019

Lagos, Nigeria

  • Built responsive web modules and backend components using version control (Git).
  • Wrote technical API documentation and system specifications; took part in code reviews, unit testing, debugging and sprint planning.

Summer camp instructor, University of Pécs

2019–2023

Pécs, Hungary

  • Developed and taught an introductory programming course using Excel and VBA to automate real-world data processing.
  • Taught and mentored students preparing for the TOEFL and technical entrance assessments for European STEM programmes.
